About
The aim of GeoMap Quiz is to create awareness amongst students about maps/Geo-facts and their importance. It also brings out creativity of students and improve their general knowledge.
Students will be able to understand subjects like Geography, Social Studies, Environment Studies and other sciences better which will help them in their future careers.
Over the years GeoMap Society through GeoMap Quiz has endeavoured to inculcate the spirit of mapping and related technologies.
Over 2 lakh students have participated in the GeoMap quiz and benefitted. The preliminary is based on Survey of India Topographical Map which gives insights into intricate details of map studies which are the basis for advancing to Geo Information Technologies. The finals is an outdoor exercise that includes map to ground, ground to map, map planning and application exercises.
The questions and format of the quiz has been designed by mapping professionals from Survey of India & National Remote Sensing Centre.
